THE REANIMATED CORPSE

The Reanimated Corpse is a multiplayer, open-universe game where the participant inhabits the curiosity of the central protagonist - a location scout - and traverses with him the entire trajectory of his investigation into the disappearance of a yesteryear actress. The player interacts with and collects the scattered clues to speculate, by themselves and with others, upon a film that may never have been made.

Tamaam Rangeen is a media production agency with a specialisation in video content produced for the new generation of digital-first audiences. Founded by Chandan Sen and Anuj Malhotra, the agency borrows its name from the publicity posters of the very first colour films released in the country. In an attempt to summon viewers to a sensorial experience rendered anew by latest technology, the title in the poster would be prefixed by a grand declaration: that the film is in fact, ‘Tamaam Rangeen’. The work we do exists at the same intersection: we use tools made available to us in the times we live in to render ideas, adages and stories that are eternal.

What

The team at Tamaam Rangeen has cultivated over a decade of experience in independent publishing, cross-format video production, editorial design, graphical animation, visual effects, line production (facilitating filming within India and abroad) and mainstream filmmaking. Our work has been recognised at such forums as the IDC Mumbai, IHC New Delhi, the Digital Driver Awards, National Film Awards, IDSFF Kerala, Balkan Can Kino, Serendipity Arts Festival, Goethe-Institut New Delhi, Filmfare Awards and Radio Mirchi Awards.

To mark the launch of Lava Pixel V1 smartphone with Android One (Google), we were commissioned to devise a set of three animated ad films. The characters and the situations were created keeping in purview the daily life of any Indian common man. This ‘Bundle of Joy’ campaign depicts how a mobile phone can become as much a part of one’s everyday affair as every other little thing in existence. The ad is narrated in a playful, singsong manner employing a popular Hindi song as vocals to tap the heartland of India which in a way determines the brand’s accessibility and affordability.

India’s largest consumer goods company Hindustan Unilever (HUL) gained market share in about 90% of its portfolio after laying out a clear strategy to counter regional competition. To commemorate this initiative, ‘Winning in Many Indias’, we were commissioned to devise a televisual corporate film stitched solely out of stock footage into a narrative whole to tell how this aforementioned initiative has not only helped brand HUL to bring itself closer to its local consumers but also provided a more granular understanding of customers and competitors.

In 2021, HarperCollins Publishers India published a special compendium of writing that features several figureheads of the various protests that have marked the cultural landscape of the nation over the last decade. Titled 'Inquilab: A Decade of Protest', the campaign for the book required us to prepare a set of promotional videos that encapsulated the collective ferment that propelled this public unrest. The video was featured on Harper Broadcast, the multi-award winning digital platform hosted and organised by the publishing house.
